What is the ripple of the power adapter?
The power adapters we usually use in our products mainly include linear power adapters and switching power adapters. The output DC voltage is a fixed value, which is obtained by rectifying, filtering, and stabilizing the AC voltage. Because the filter is not clean, the DC voltage contains AC components, which produces ripples. Ripple is a complex clutter signal. It is a periodic signal that fluctuates up and down around the output DC voltage, but the cycle and amplitude are not fixed values and change with time. The ripple waveforms of different power supplies are different. There are many factors that produce power ripple, even if you use batteries for power supply, ripples will be generated due to load fluctuations.
Harm of Ripple:
High ripple voltage will cause harmonics in electronic products, interfere with normal operation, reduce power supply efficiency, affect the logical relationship of digital circuits, interfere with the normal transmission of signals, and strong ripple will generate impulse voltage or current, which may burn electrical equipment.
